Registration for the 2026-2027 season opens June 15th!

Please read below before proceeding with registration: 

• If you are interested in trying out for a competitive team, tryouts are scheduled for August 22, 2026. A $10 tryout fee is required to attend.  You must be registered to attend and must attend to be considered for a competitive team. 
• Players registering with SW Basketball MUST reside (or attend school) South of the North Saskatchewan River, and west of Calgary Trail, to the City Limits (see map). 
• Please choose “2026-27 ABA Membership Year” 
• Our athletes are insured through Alberta Basketball Association (ABA). A mandatory membership fee will be collected and paid directly to ABA upon registration. Please be advised this insurance does not cover communicable diseases such as the Covid-19 virus.  
• Jerseys are to be returned at the end of the season. A $100 replacement fee will be charged for any that are not returned.
• $150 Volunteer Commitment - a volunteer role is required PER FAMILY during the season.  If your volunteer commitment is not fulfilled, you will be charged the $150 fee.  You can choose to opt out of volunteering by paying the volunteer fee at registration.
• Registration is not complete until we have received your full registration fees.
• Practice days, locations, and times are TBD and will not be available until the start of the season.

PLEASE NOTE:

Registration is by birth year. Requests to play down an age level will not be considered. Requests to play up an age group are considered on a case-by-case basis.  

18U players are not eligible to play on both a community team and a high school senior team simultaneously.  For this reason, registration for this age group is broken into two separate seasons.

Refund Policy:

Refunds may be granted on cancelled registrations as follows:

2026-2027 EYBA Community and Competitive Leagues

• $75 per athlete is non-refundable (a “full refund” does not include this $75 non-refundable administration fee), regardless of reason for cancellation. 
• Refunds requested after teams are formed are subject to a $100 cancellation/administration fee.  
• Registration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE after the first game weekend of the 2026-2027 EYBA Seasons.
• Registration fees will not be refunded due to players not being able to attend games or practices.

2026-2027 Mites Program

• $75 per athlete is non-refundable, regardless of reason for cancellation.
• Registration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE after the first full week of the season.

SW Zone Youth Basketball incurs league fees and administration costs based on the number of players that are registered. Once our teams are declared to the league, team registration and administration fees are non-refundable back to our association.
