SW Basketball participates in the Edmonton Youth Basketball Association “A/B” Division for elite players in the 13U and 15U categories for both boys and girls. The “A/B” Division allows players to compete at a high level against players with similar skills from other zones within the capital region. Given its competitive nature, “A/B” Division teams have try-outs. Teams can expect priority gym time, experienced coaches, and Provincial Championship play. Players who do not make the “A/B” Division teams are still eligible to play community basketball in other divisions.
Note - All declared “A” and “B” teams will participate in the EYBA Seeding Tournament - September 8th-9th, 2023
A/B Tryouts - August 23rd & 24th, 2024 - Schedule TBA
11U Development Teams - 9-10 years old (born 2014, 2015)
13U - 11-12 years old (born 2012, 2013)
15U - 13-14 years old (born 2010, 2011)
Players wishing to play “A/B” Division must try out for the team in the zone which their principal residence is located or where they attend school.
The “A/B” Team Program runs from end-September to mid-March with games played on Tuesday evenings (for boys play) and Wednesday evenings (for girls play with some Thursday evenings as well). Games will primarily take place at the Saville Community Sports Centre or EYBA Centre, however games will also be held at other gyms around the Capital Region.
Teams will also get one practice time per week (subject to gym availability).
