Southwest Zone Youth Basketball Association (SWZYBA) is a community based not-for-profit youth basketball organization in the southwest quadrant of Edmonton. We serve over 1200 athletes between the ages of 6-17, this makes us the largest zone in Edmonton (and in Alberta)! Read our Bylaws HERE.
Edmonton Youth Basketball Association (EYBA) runs the Fall/Winter League which we participate in.
All divisions of SWZYBA (except Mites, which is run internally) are registered in the EYBA Fall/Winter League which is sanctioned by Alberta Basketball Association and runs from the end of September through mid March.
We aim for all participants to experience the fun, fitness, and sense of achievement that comes through teamwork, dedication, and skill development. Successful implementation of this philosophy may often lead to winning games; however, we believe that winning should never come at the expense of fair play, character development, and a positive team experience.
Players should be able to enjoy playing and practicing the sport of basketball in an inclusive environment.
The Southwest Basketball Zone Boundaries are: North Saskatchewan River to the north and west, Calgary Trail to the east and city limits to the south.
